We follow the New Zealand ECE curriculum Te Whāriki with aspirations for children: To grow up as competent and confident learners and communicators, healthy in mind, body, and spirit, secure in their sense of belonging and in the knowledge that they make a valued contribution to society.
Tamariki today need to learn to think on their feet, make decisions, cope with change and work in groups. The science is in, years sound research, and our own experience shows that tamariki learn best through play, exploration, fun, curiosity, challenge and experiences, supported by knowledgeable kaiako and appropriate environments.
Science, Technology, Engineering Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) and literacy, are embedded through play into our everyday curriculum. Group and individual programmes incorporate all areas of learning, while individual strengths, interests and capabilities extend on what tamariki already know and want to understand.
